My friend Lucille was admitted to an Assisted Living Facility about two months ago. We've been neighbors for eighteen years. Her son lives in Texas, but when he was here the last time, he was afraid to leave her at home alone anymore. He went to Tall Pines and decided to admit her even though she didn't want to go. She refused to allow anyone to come into her house to help her, and refused to go to Texas with him. He couldn't stay with her indefinitely and had to get back to his job and family. I couldn't stay with her all of the time either. You know I'm close to eighty years old myself. He felt his only option was an Assisted Living and Tall Pines looks very nice. I know it costs a lot too.
I go to see Lucille at least once a week. Yesterday I talked to her son and told him I was really worried because Lucille has lost so much weight and looks terrible. I asked him what the place was doing about it? He said he calls and they tell him she's "fine" and everything's ok". It's not though and I know it isn't. I've known her for eighteen years!
I told her son I know a lady who can help, and I've given him your name and phone number. He said he'd call you. I just hope he does.
